Messy

One of Breckin's favorite words to say is "messy" and he likes to be messy, in a strangely clean way, as he doesn't like things on his hands. However he has discovered that he loves to fingerpaint and that it is an ok messy to be on his hands. He has been having so much fun being creative lately and likes to color and paint. In the past he has not liked the feel of playdough but I am going to make up a batch this week and see if he will like it now, we will see!

Fourth of July!

Usually we go to the beach house with all of my family for the Fourth but this year my cousin Chris was getting Married down in Tahoe on the 9th and so everyone went down there instead (except for us, we were sad to miss it but it is just too crazy right now). So we decided to participate in all of the fun going on around here and take advantage of the fact that Rob had a four day weekend, he had to work the next weekend but it was great having a long period of time together to finish up on projects and have fun! We went to the St. Paul Rodeo to start with, it is really famous around here as far as rodeos go and we thought Breckin would like seeing the horses and cows. He loved them but we didn't make it through the whole thing because we interrupted nap time to go and he got tired of sitting. He had a good reason to wear his cute John Deer boots though, so it was all worth it!






Then in the evening our street had a BBQ and blocked the street off to cars so that all of the kids could run around and have fun! We have SO many kids in our neighborhood and one of them is just four months younger than Breckin, they had tons of fun riding their trikes together. We enjoyed getting to know some of our neighbors and even though Breckin was exhausted he found a ball and ran around in a daze chasing it. We let him use some sparklers, he really didn't care for them much, since he was sacked out long before dark. Overall it was a fun day and a great weekend because we got so much done and also had time to relax!
